Our daughter, Anna, was diagnosed with childhood Glaucoma in both of her eyes when she was one and a half years old. By age five Anna had already undergone four surgeries for her glaucoma. We sought a second opinion from Dr. Freedman at Duke and were given an appointment within days. After that appoint Dr. Freedman asked if we would like to be trained on the use of an iCare unit and sent home with a unit to measure and track Anna’s eye pressures. After being trained on the unit we were sent home with a Zebra striped iCare which was a big hit with our daughter. Over the course of the next two months, we used the iCare on a regular basis to track Anna’s pressures in each eye. We were able to see that her pressures changed drastically throughout the day in each eye and were also able to identify which eye was of greater concern.
